Is Surgery Advisable For Swollen Lymph Nodes Post A Chemotherapy For Testicular Cancer?
My son was diagnosed with metastatic testicular cancer. He had the cancerous testicle removed. It had spread to the lymph nodes. He did a heavy cycle of chemo therapy. After the cycles had ended, he went through the standard post chemo testing and follow up with oncologist. One of the lymph nodes didn t shrink down, so the oncologist presented his case to the oncology bi-weekly case review meeting. The consensus was either surgery or another round of chemo. My son has opted for the surgery. My understanding is that this is considered a major surgery. I am trying to find more information on the surgery itself and some information on recovery time, needs, etc... Do you know where I can find some general information for my questions?
