Is Surgery Advisable For Vaginal Wall Prolapse?

I am 68 year old female. Have a history of Non-Hodgin s lymphoma, but not active since 1999. Recently had felt like vagina wall is not as open as would like. My gyn is out for surgery. Saw my family doctor yesterday and having an ultra sound Wed. She ordered a cream for me to insert for next 2 weeks, and even with EXCELLENT insurance, Medicare and supplement D, $293 for co-pay. Pharmacy said there is no generic. Need more info about this condition.

Hi mam.
Thanks for the query.
We need further information.
In Prolapse there are different grades like grade I, II, III.
The surgery for prolapse is dependent on many aspects like premorbid condition of the patient and whether the patient is fit for surgery or not.

Since you have NHL, we need to examine carefully if its a prolapse or a mass. If possible biopsy is required if mass is present before the surgery.

If no NHL mass, and if its just a prolapse and if u are fit for surgery - Surgery can be done.
If NHL mass - Needs an opinion from oncologist before undergoing surgery for prolapse.
If no NHL mass and have prolapse but not fir for surgery - Pessary will be prescribed by the gynaecologist.

Hope this information is helpful
Thank u
