Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have Kienbock s Disease, as well I had an thumb surgery two years ago that has already collapsed. I am seeing another hand specialist in a couple of weeks. It seems odd that I would have two things so painful on the same hand. I am looking at surgery for my thumb, my orthopedic surgeon already told me that...but do I need another surgery to fix the Kienbock s....both are very painful, and no strength in my hand..
thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....
well kienboch's disease is associated with osteonecrosis of lunate bone mostly due to devascularisation or loss of blood supply.... see the first method to treat this condition is immobilisation of the hand and use of anti-inflammatory medicines that will relieve pain... if it does not succeed then only surgical management is required like revascularisation, lunate bone excision, salvage etc....
hope this was helpful.... contact me for any further queries....
regards
