I have a mildly tortuous esophagus....I was put on Omeprazole 40mg qd......the Dr. wants to order an esophagram...is this really necessary. I had a problem swallowing but my 1st Endoscopy they dialated the area and it s been better. What do you think ?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
I think that you should definitely do esophagogram since this is simple procedure and it will show us if there is stenosis or progression of toruosity. So I dont see reason to avoid this. This doesnt mean that surgery is required, especially if your symptoms improved.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
