Is Surgery Required For Contraction In Gall Bladder And Calculi In Lumen?
dear sir,
my father was diagnosed for acute pancreatitis. the first ultrasound report says "gall bladder is contracted and it's lumen contains multiple calculi 2 r obvious of apporxx size 24 and 25mm wall is asymmetrically thickened . few other calculit are seen in the neck and duct region" doctor advised Ct scan . CT scan report does not say what was said ealier it says " gall blader is contracted and it's lumen contains multiple slightly attenuated calculi(USG correlated) pls clarify if surgery is required
Calculi in the gallbladder has moved through common bile duct into pancreatic duct causing pancreatitis, as pancreatitis is a medical emergency. Yes urgent surgery should be done to remove the calculi. Pancreatitis is a medical emergency and follow the instructions of your surgeon, operation should be done as early as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ramesh Kumar
