Is Swallowing A Chewing Gum Followed By Irritated Lungs And Throat A Concern?

I fell asleep with chewing gum in my mouth, I woke up & inhaled it. It feels like it s stuck inside of my throat, on the left hand side. It hurts when I cough, my lungs are also hurting upon coughing. I can drink, but nothing is moving it. Should I go to a dr? Judy.
