Hello, I am an RN and I would like to start my son on Systolex as he refuses to see a Physician...his B/P range is from 141/94-160/106 ..he is 45 and is about 6 1 and weighs approx. 220...I am keeping notes on his B/P which we take daily. I am concerned about side effects from the supplement. Thanks

Hello,

It is very good to know that you have been keeping notes on your son's blood pressure. You are suggested to maintain charting so that it will be easier for you to monitor and manage his BP. High blood pressure is often associated with heart diseases, you are suggested to get him a routine cardiac check up done to rule out any developing CAD. This is for staying on the safer side. His BP along with blood glucose, cholesterol & triglyceride levels in the blood need to be monitored. Get him Lipid function tests done. Systolex is a herbal product with calcium & magnesium in it. It may have side effects in the long run as the other medicines.

To control blood pressure naturally, moringa oleifera and garlic are very effective, time tested and without side effects if taken in proper proportions. The best way to take it is in the form of food. Supplements are also available in the market. These work best when alcoholic beverages, smoking and other addictions are limited or cut. Your son should avoid taking red meat, restrict salt intake, avoid stress, exercise more, maintain healthy weight and take adequate sleep. He should take food rich in calcium and magnesium, nuts and seeds. Avoid trans fat, cheese, oily junky food, refined flour. He should take food cooked in olive oil, whole cereals, berries and veggies. Hypertension is a chronic condition, if uncontrolled naturally should be controlled with medications.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
