Yes Clevudine is not the first line drug in chronic Hepatitis B. it has side effects like myopathies. it s only approved in south Korea and your country. According to new guidelines tenofovir or entecavir are first line and effective drugs with much less side effects. Chronic hepatitis should be treated only if male ALT (SGPT) is more than 90 and PCR detect up to 2000 in HBe negative and 20000 in HBe positive. or PCR is detected as mentioned plus liver biopsy shows scarring, fibrosis or inflammation.
