Is Taking Oxycodone Safe For Severe Pain On Right Side Of Body Caused Due To Paralysis?

My father suffered from a stroke 12 years ago at the age of 59. his right side of his body is paralyzed. The last couple of years he has experienced severe pain on his paralyzed side. Doctors have tried every kind of painkiller and now he is on oxycodone. He goes through periods when he feels great and then for days can t eat and is disoriented. Then he feels good again. Any help would be appreciated because he is still young at heart despite his disability

Hi
The oxycodone dosage may be too strong for him and probably it needs to be reduced.

Gabapentin or Lyrica are alternative medications that may help his pain
