Is Tenderness Of Pubic Area And Swelling During Pregnancy Due To Hernia?

I have tenderness/soreness on left side of pubic area. Slightly swollen. Almost feels like a vein is swollen. Soreness goes away when I walkmormlay down for awhile. Gets very sore when I stand for a long time or stand up after sitting down for awhile. I am 18 weeks pregnant. Is this a hernia?

Hello there.

Yes as per your history it could be a femoral hernia which usually occurs just below the groin crease.

Since you have pain and soreness over the area , you need to consult a surgeon for proper examination and diagnosis.

The other possibility can be a varicose vein which are very common in pregnancy and aggravate with work and prolonged standing.

take care.
