Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is The Fast Heart Rate 94 Beats Per Minute Normal?
Im 17. Weigh 105 about 5'5 or 5'4. Couple months ago I wanted to give blood by my pulse was 111 beats per minute so they wouldn't let me give blood. My heart rate is always fast even when I'm not doing anything. Right now I'm laying in bed and counted my heart rate it's 94 beats per minute. Is this normal?
Dear Sir/Madam Thanks for your query to HCM. Every individual has a unique heart rate range. If you do not have any other symptoms of disease it may be a normal rate for you. You may ask your peers or parents to check your heart rate for a complete minute while you are sleeping. This will be reassuring if it comes out to be less than 100 bpm. If you have any repeat any symptoms please do visit your GP for a general examination. Increased heart rate may be due to disorders of other systems too. Sincerely Sukhvinder
