Is The Feeling Of Babies Movement In The Abdomen Related To Muscle Spasms?

I have motions in my upper abdomen that feel like a babies movement. I am menopausal, had my tubes tied 20 years ago, and had an ablasion 8 years ago. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is it just muscle spasms that are nothing to be concerned about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The narrated feeling of baby movements is due to underlying intestine peristalsis rather than muscle spasms.

* If there is associated features of nausea, vomiting, alteration in bowel habits as constipation or diarrhea, fever or other systemic symptoms then these cramps matter a lot otherwise there is no clinical significance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
