Good day I have recently undergone a circumcision procedure and later I learnt that the frenulum was left intact. Is the frenulum a key HIV receptor area and are my chances of contracting the virus not lessened by the procedure due to the frenulum having been left intact? Thank you
Hello In the penis main route of entry of HIV is opening of urethra ( urethral opening through which urine and semen passes ). Whether frenulum present or not present ,it is not a matter as far as concerned for HIV infection. There is no scientific proof that circumcision prevent HIV infection , as I mentioned it is urethral opening which play an important role in HIV transmission. However few doctors believe that circumcision lessen the contract of HIV . So in my opinion circumcision is a religious matter. Hope this will help you.
