Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in the ear during severe coughing . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like common cold , bronchitis , chronic sinusitis and ear canal infection . Sometimes infection spread to ear through Eustachian tube with pressure from coughing . I woudl suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination .
