Is The Reading Of Burnt Calories On Treadmill Accurate?
Hi I have been working on treadmill every morning. I started out doing 3.0 mph at 7 incline and was burning 600 plus calories according to the treadmill monitor. But when I started jogging at 4.0 mph for 5 mins and walking at 3.0 mph at 0.5 incline I barely get 300 calories burned. Again the calories is what the treadmill is telling I am burning is the calories burning accurate?
The reading on the treadmill is usually for a 60 minute duration, i.e. if you run at a particular speed, that would result in burning those many number of calories in a 1 hour period. So as you clearly did not run for that duration of time, you did not end up burning 600 calories. Hope this clears your doubt.
Best wishes.
