Is There A Chance Of Blood Clot After Hitting My Shin When Already Taken Tylenol?
Hi there, I was getting out of the bathtub and hit my shin. I have a vein that runs across my shin and immediately after I bumped my leg the vein swelled. I have put Ice packs on my leg and have taken tylenol. The area is extremely tender to touch. Is there a chance of blood clot?
There probably will be a collection of blood at the site of the injury,it is likely that the blood will collect under the periosteum or the bone covering. The swollen vein is unlikely to be tender, though it may contribute to the swelling.RICE,is the acronym for treating such injuries,Rest,Ice application,Compression by using a bandage and elevation of the injured part will help.Analgesics like Tylenol and Motrin will help. You need to see your doctor/PCP who may investigate further and get X-Rays of the leg done to rule out bony injury.
