Is There A Treatment For Keliods ?

I have a keloid on my chest and this has been growing since the past 5yrs. It causes severe itching at times. I have visited several dermatologists and used numerous topical applications with no respite. Does a keloid keep growing year on year? Are there no proven techniquies for treating keloids?

Hi!,
Welcome To HealthcareMagic forum,

Keloid means claw like i.e. it has a tendency to spread like a claw.
The only option is injections .Creams or surgery have no role to play here.A combination injections of steroids with 5 flurouracil with hylase injection works best. This would not only stop the progression of keloid but also suppress the lesion. These injections you would require once in 3 weeks .A total of 3-4 such injections would be enough to suppress it.
Apart from this we have done lasers also in keloid with variable results .That too requires multiple sessions at monthly interval ,but is very costly. The laser used in such cases is PULSE DYE LASER(PDL).

Please visit a dermatologist, who are specialist in all skin care and ask for the remedy.
Don't ever go for any surgery for keloid,it will double the lesion.

Hope I have answered your question.
regards,
