Is There A Way To Get More Than 4 Shots Of Imitrex In 3 Months?
Yes, my Wife suffers from cluster migraines. We can t seem to convince our HMO to allow Imitrex more often. They only allow 4 shots every 3 months. Her clusters take that amount up the first week. She has tried other medications but none of them take the pain away like the Imitrex shot. What can we do to have this more avail to us?

I have had patient's with similar situations. There have been cases where the doctor can appeal the HMOs decision and they will provide more medication. I do not know your specific circumstances but if you have not already done so, you should have your wife see a pain doctor who specializes in headaches.
