Is There An OTC Alternative For Alprostadil For Diabetes?

I have a diabetic family member outside of the country who is in danger of having toes amputated. He was prescribed alprostadil 500 mcg injectable but cannot acquire it in his country. Is there a non-prescription alternative or other prescription alternative that is easily available in South America?
Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Diabetic foot is a dangerous situation because it may lead to loss of limb or may result in sepsis from involvement of even a toe.
For this reason these patients should be treated by an expert vascular surgeon.
Alprostadil does not have any OTC alternative and itself is also not much effective.
Your relative should be treated in close supervision.
The blood sugar levels must be in good control, sterile dressing and systematic antibiotics should be given if there is evidence if infection.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!
