We have a loved one who is in hospice care for lung cancer. She has deteriorated to the point she has all the symptoms of days to live. She hasn't eaten in a few days, sleeps, speech is labored etc and the hospice nurse told us we are looking at days. Yesterday she drank more then normal and asked for food. She was also able to sit somewhat upright in her wheel chair. She is showing signs of a burst of energy. I have read this is can happen before someone dies. Is this true? How long does this spark usually last?
From a medical point of view its not been found that there will be burst of energy just before dying in any diseases process(To the best of my knowledge). So technically speaking there is nothing like spark, Its the efforts of body to pull through till the point it cannot further when all the processes stop down
HI Well come to HCM Actually all over soft corners working here, our love for the person who is in terminal stage works here, our best feeling makes us sentimental otherwise scientifically this is not true, hope this information helps, take care have a nice day.
