Is There Any Chance Of Recurrence Of Ovarian Cancer?

My wife was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer. She went through the 3 cycle treatment of chemo, surgery the 3 more cycles. She responded very well with her C125 levels dropping to 26 after her last treatment. It has only been 4 months and she is beginning to get some reoccurrence symptoms such as bloating in her belly and mild pain in her right lower pelvic region. My question is what are the percentages of reoccurrence when the treatment and remission when so well. Is this common to for the cancer to come back within such a short time after treatment.

hi dave. ovarian cancer tend to recur frequently because its a surface malignancy and spread to entire peritoneal cavity. if ca125 increases and peritoneal disease recurs she will need peritonectmy and HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy).

hello dave, it seems the cancer have recurred. as she was diagnosed at a late stage, it is likely for the cancer to recurr. still there are some palliative treatments u can opt for. cnsult your oncologst soon. good luck.
