Is There Any Doctor Available To Analyse This Report?
I am on Tuberculosis medication and my recent LFT shows SGPT of 56. Bilirubin total is 0.68 and bilirubin direct is 0.25 and bilirubin indirect is 0.43, lymphocytes are 16. My doc is unavailable today, so thought of putting in a question to a panel of doctors here. What is advisable for me.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Liver function tests are done regularly when a person is on anti-tubercular treatment (ATT). The ATT is metabolized by the liver thus there is chance of compromise of liver function tests. Your liver function tests show slightly elevated SGPT, normal bilirubin, normal direct bilirubin and normal indirect bilirubin. Lymphocyte count of 16% is also within normal limits.
A normal LFTs show that liver is functioning normally. Any compromise if LFTs may require discontinuation of some drugs in the ATT.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
