Is There Any Harm If I Take Cerazette During Pregnancy?
Hi - i took the morning after pill (Levonelle) on 12th May and a doctor said i could start to take mini pill cerazette on the Friday. I was advised that i did not need to wait to take a pregnancy test before starting the mini pill as it would do no harm if i was pregnant - is this the case? If not should i stop taking it now?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Levonelle is an emergency contraceptive that may be used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex.Success rate with this drug is very high even though not 100%.Cerazette is a synthetic progestogen that may be used to prevent pregnancy(contraceptive) if taken correctly. If you are already pregnant, this drug will not harm the baby.It may only enhance the effect of natural progesterone to on the uterine lining. However, you do not need such if you are not suffering from progesterone deficiency.I will advise you do a pregnancy test.If positive, you just stop the pills. If negative, you may continue with it. Hope this will help Wish you the best
