Is There Any Link Between Mirena Coil Implant And Shingles?
Since I had the Mirena coil fitted five years ago, I have had seven outbreaks of shingles. The first outbreak began approximately 3days post mirena insertion, and I had mirena removed last Thurs and currently have another outbreak. I never had shingles in my life before. My immunology specialist could find no reason for the recurrence. Could there be a link between the mirena and the shingles? Thank you
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. You had shingels after insertion of the shingels, and there is recurrence as well, are you sure both of you had treatment for shingels when you had it. Shingels can occur when there is osteroporosis, anemia, hypertension etc.So you have to find if any of the things are true in your case. I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
