The only non-surgical treatment to remove the salivary gland stone is by gently probing the salivary duct with a blunt thin instrument. The stone may then fall into the mouth. This needs to be done by a doctor. Mostly, the stones are removed by using a fine endoscope (called sialendoscope) and the stone are removed with a forceps. This is a minimal invasive surgery, it can be done under local anaesthesia and the patient can go home the same day. The complication rate is quite less and this procedure has good success rates.
