Is There Any Side Effects For Ibuprofen?

I have been taking Ibuprofen for a few days following minor surgery on my finger. I am on no other meds except the Pill and haven t consumed alcohol. I have been experiencing bad dreams and wonder if this is a side effect or whether the med effects the sleep cycle in some way?

Hi,

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug commonly used for the symptomatic relief of pain and swelling due to inflammation. Its common side effects include heartburn, stomach upset, stomach ulcer or bleeding. It is not known to cause bad dreams neither it affects the normal sleep cycle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
