Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
WE are looking for a specific type of stent that was put into a friend of mine. Is there a specific stent called a Stent LCX? He is suppose to have an MRI and we need to know the type of stent he had 10 years ago. The only reference we can find is the LCX. Thanks
I undestand your concern. LCX is not a specific type of stent, if you mean the material it is made from. It is just the name of the artery the stent is in. I this case left circumflex artery. The radiiologist which will perform this examination, will know what kind of stents were put in arteries ten years ago. Not all stents are alike, some are MRI safe, and some are not. Whether it is safe to have an MRI depends on a number called the "Tesla strength" of your make and model of stent. You can also ontact the hospital where the stent was input to inform yourself about the kind of stent.
I hope this answer was helpful to you.
