Is There Chances For Heart Trouble Because Of Family History?

Hi, my name is Carole Spring and I have recently moved to Asheville. I am 67 years young, take no medications, and have recently changed my Medicare policy to Mutual of Omaha, Plan G. I am looking to establish myself with a new doctor with whom I can continue a relationship to assure my health. I am well although I am carrying more weight than I would like. Would an internist be a good choice for me? I do have a family history where my father had heart trouble and my mother, rheumatoid arthritis. Any advice?

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Heart disease - especially Coronary Artery Disease - is mostly hereditary…
Check your risk factors / get a base line – examination / blood tests / ECG - for future reference
If you have any symptom, have a stress ECG

Good luck
Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
