Is There Side Effect From Taking Amlodipine Besylate And Vitamin D3?
I M TAKING AMLODIPINE BESYLATE 5MGM X1/DAY T NIGHT,AND SUPPLEMENT VIT. D3 4000 -6000IU IN THE MORNING, IS THERE ADVERSE EFFECTS WITH THIS AND WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF CALCIUM ABSORBPTION, AND EXACTLY WHAT RISKS THIS HAS.
Amlodipine does not interact with vitamins/minerals. If anything it is HELPFUL TO PREVENT THIN BONES. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20193679 It does effect the blood vessels. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing them. THis often causes blood to fall to the feet and produce foot swelling. This is almost never due to kidney failure and almost never more than a bit inconvenient and also it is almost always easily treated by diuretics one of which (HCTZ) slightly helps increase calcium and bone health.
