Is There Something To Worry About The Blood Results Sgot 113U/L And Sgpt 222U/L?

HI ,i am suffering from fever for last two days, even shivering is there.iam a diabetic patient so im taking medicines for that.after geting fever i am taking some antibiotics for that also.now i got my blood test report sgot 113U/L and sgpt 222U/L and all other reports like TC ,DC etc are normal.Sir may i know anything serious in this case

Thanks for writing to HCM

Increased SGPT indicates liver injury.It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,alcohol intake,altered lipid profile,medicines etc.
SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.

You need few more investigations like random blood sugar(RBS),renal function test(RFT),lipid profile,viral markers,urine RE/ME.Ultrasound of abdomen should also be done.

You should take tablet Ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months more.It will help in regeneration of liver cells.
You should avoid red meat and high fat milk products.
You should avoid fried and junk food and avoid alcohol completely if you take it.
