Is There Standardised Assessment For Adults To Diagnose Aspergers Syndrome?
Hello, I am a 48 year old man and I think I have Aspergers Syndrom. I was diagnosed with a learning disability when I was in 4th grade, and for lack of a better explanation, they told me I had dyslexia, even though I do not reverse letters and such when I read and write. My daughter was diagnosed with Aspergers when she was an infant, and I have all of the symtoms/manerisms listed when I research the subject. I have been struggling with this my whole life. My question is this: Is there a standardized assesment that adults can take to get an Aspergers Diagnosis.
There is a standardized scale called The Gilliam Asperger's Disorder Scale (GADS) that can be administered by a professional and assist in the diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome.
