Is This Alright To Take Hydrocodone/apap 5/325, 2 Tabs 4xday For Arthritis Instead Of 3xday?

I am taking hydrocodone/apap 5/325, 2 tabs 3xday for arthritis and degenerative disk dx in the spine. Plus I fx'd my spine in T- 11, 12, L-3, 4, 5 in 2009. I also have a case of arthritis at the CMC joint of the thumb. Very painful in its own right. The dose of the six tabs a day seems to be ok to get me through the day but I wake up every night and can't take any more of the drug without exceeding my 3xday dose. Can I take an extra dose to get through the night therefore making it 4xday?

Hi,

I read your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

As long as you are feeling ok while taking 6 tabs a day, then, there is no need to get another dose during night.

I'd suggest to consult with your doctor first before taking another dose to avoid undesirable side effects.

Apart taking the pills, you should do massage and physiotherapy to improve your symptoms together with following a healthy arthritis diet.
