Is Tight, Peeling Skin Around The Stitches Of A Swollen Thumb A Cause For Concern?

I had ten stitches across my thumb two weeks ago. My thumb is swollen from the accident and the skin feels tight. The skin is peeling on either side of the stitches. Is this normal? The stitches were the result of wrapping a leash around my thumb as my husband threw a toy for our German shepherd. She took off, jerking the leash and tightening it around my thumb, resulting in a very bruised thumb and a bad cut.

Hello
I could be normal peeling out the skin near by the injured space. That is dead skin and is replaced by new skin.
But if you are experiencing any pain, redness, swelling near by the injured site i would suggest you to visit your physician. In that case there may be possibility of infection. and it is always better to treat before it convert serious.
Thanks
