Is Tingling Sensation And Swelling Caused After A Fracture A Cause Of Concern?
Hi I have a fracture on the left side of my left foot which occurred 12 days ago. I have tingling in my toes and I have to keep my legs elevated to avoid swelling. Am I on the right track for healing? I felt better last week than. I do now. I am only using a boot with crutches for walking.
Your symptoms have no relation with the healing process.
Tingling sensation in the toes, suggests that the swelling is compressing either, the nerves supplying the toes; or, the arteries supplying blood to the toes. The problems can also be due to nerves' injury following the fracture.
A short course of an anti-inflammatory drug, such as, Ibuprofen along with Trypsin/Chymotrypsin combination will reduce the swelling and restore normal nerve-function as well as blood supply to the toes.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and will prescribe the advised drugs in appropriate doses.
