Is Tingling Sensation In The Leg Normal After An Injury?

I fell and badly bruised my knee 6 days ago. I noticed today that part of the bruise is turning yellow and that the yellow color has spread to about 5 inches down my leg, below the original bruise. My leg also seems to feel tingly today. Is this normal? I have been taking an aspirin or ibuprophin each day since the accident.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Tingling sensation of the leg after ijury to the knee area can suggest an associate d injury to one of the nerves around the knee. Most commonly it is the Peroneal nerve which causes tingling on the lateral aspect of the leg. The tibial nerve injury can cause sensation to most of the lower leg. However, with complete rest to the knee and leg, using a 'Walker' to move around, without weight bearing of the affected foot and leg will help in faster recovery of the soft tissues including the nerve.
