Is Tramadol A Good Treatment For Depression?

i regularly see my psychiatrist, and i have been put on tons of antidepressants, i suffer from major depressive disorder and sevear anxiety disorder. i am currently taking serequel and xanax. the xanax helps with the anxiety, but the depression is getting worse. i recently was in a car accident and they put me on a medication called tramadol, it actually helped my depression and i didnt have to take the xanax as often. i go to see my dr on the 11th, and plan on talking to him about it. i have been trying to get information on tramadol to treat depression, but i can t find anything concrete besides forum discussions. My question is..... is tramadol a good treatment for depression?

Tramadol is a painkiller and it has no antidepressant effect. In you case, may be due to improvement in underline somatic symptoms, you are feeling better. You can use it for few days and later try to stop it to avoid abuse potential or dependence. In antidepressant, you should try paroxetine, that would help you a lot.
