Is Using Monistat For Burning In Vagina Safe?

I have a granddaughter who is red on her vagina and bum she is 6 yrs old ..we used Vaseline, Pantene and she says it still hurts I assume burning ..I believe she is not wiping properly but do catch her pulling on her panties still I think from the moisture of not wiping after using the bathroom.my question would be ..is it safe to use monistat cream down there to comfort her and will the pain go away enough for her to sleep.Thank you for the help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, your grand daughter is having vaginal infection through some sort of fungi or bacteria with urinary tract infection. Though there can be relief via monistat cream to some extent, I would recommend to take her to her pediatrician and get prescription of antibiotics syrup or tablets for faster recovery. Allow her plenty of liquids and syrup of ibuprofen with paracetamol will give her relief to sleep tonight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
