Is Vaginal Bleeding Post Intake Of Monistat A Cause For Concern?
hi a couple days ago i took monistat 3 and everything was fine; after the 2nd treatment,i accidentally missed a day to take the last one. I finally did take the last one last night and now I m seeing some vaginal bleeding? is that normal or should i be worried?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Monistat is an anti-fungal drug and used for treatment of fungal infection. Fungal infection is characterized by white, curdy discharge associated with intense itching. Treatment with anti-fungals leads to disappearance of the symptoms. Fungal infection is not associated with vaginal bleeding. Thus, vaginal bleeding is probably due to some other cause and fungal infection or its treatment is not the probable cause for it. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment of the genital tract to find the cause of vaginal bleeding.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
