Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I took my daughter to the emergency room last night because she kept passing out with a stomach virus. She has had fainting spells before( humid heat, playing sports, or just standing too long). the dr there says she could have vasal-vagal something and she would just have to be aware of what to do when she feels this way (lie down, breathe..). She does have hypothyroidism with a goiter and is taking meds for this. Are hypothyroidism and vasal vagal related or the cause of one or the other?
I can understand your concern regarding to your daughter's health. Hypothyroidism is not related to vaso-vagal activisation. If the Levothyroxine dose is the right one and the thyroid hormones are within the normal ranges, no side effect is expected.
I would recommend to do an ultrasound of the thyroid gland, as the goiter is present to have an accurate information regarding to the thyroid structure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best wishes, Dr. Mirjeta
