hi,my 2year 9 months old daughter was prescribed ventorlin and relent syrup.ventorlin 5 ml 3 times 5days and relent 2.5 ml 3 times for 5days,she was first having cold with runny and blocked nose.after 4 days of cold, she started coughing while sleeping with blocked nose as well.after giving medicine she started improving from second day.i just wanted to know that dr.prescribed her a correct medication or not because ventorlin is a bronchodilator?it will have any side effect or not?she had no wheezing.it is dry coughing i think.after 10 days again she started coughing and this time its more with blocked nose.again same medication given to my daughter.is it correct?please tell me and help me .her coughing increases when she is sleeping and she is not able to sleep from last 3 days.dr. is saying her lungs are clear then why bronchodilator is given to her.her coughing is also not improving with the medication.please tell me is dr.giving her correct medicine or i should consult some other dr. once again.her 3 days course already completed today.
Hello.
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic forum.
Ventorlin is a bronchodilator and is given in children with cough when a wheeze is there in the chest. You can add an antiallergic cetrizine syrup along with these medicines and give your child a steam inhalation thrice daily to remove congestion and blocked nose.
