Is Vigorous Rocking Of An Infant For Few Minutes Harmful?

My friends two year old son was pushing my 3 month old in her baby swing VERY fast. The swing was going to the furthest it could and coming back vigorously. I walked in the room and stopped it, but it might have been going for a minute before I noticed. Is my baby ok?! Could this cause shaken baby syndrome or anything close?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have gone through your question and i understand your concern.
Shaken baby syndrome usually presents itself through irritability, drowsiness, vomiting, seizures, difficulty in breathing, loss of appetite etc. I would recommend you observe your child for 24 hours and if you observe any change in your child's behavior please consult your local ER for detailed clinical evaluation and further treatment accordingly.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing your baby good health.
