Is Weighing 130 Lbs At Height Of 5 10 The Reason For Premature Labour And Lost Child?
I suspect my daughter-in-law has an eating disorder. She looks too thin and weighs 130 lbs. at 5 10 tall. She went into premature labour last Friday and lost the baby at 20 weeks gestation. There was nothing wrong with the baby. He was a perfectly formed boy. So now I feel even more inclined to question if her weight could ve been a factor.
Hello, Being underweight cannot be a factor in pregnancy loss provided one is healthy. Mid-trimester losses can be due to several reasons like cervical incompetence, birth defects of the baby, utero-placental insufficiency etc. You cannot perceive certain birth defects by simply observing the baby; you need to test. A postmortem into the sequence of events as well as of the baby can give clues to the cause. Please take care of the mother and give her moral support and good nutrition and rest. Pregnancy loss can be severely traumatizing. Hope this helps.
