Itching In Face And White Spot On Chin. Dandruff Issue?

Hello Doctor Iam Nagaveni chandrashekar, iam from bangalore.India i have a 6 months 2 days old baby she is healthy baby but now she had itching her face and small white spot on her chin left side.on her neck she had white colour when it was red rashes on her neck somedays before, now it going turn to white colour on that spot. pls tell me can i change her soap pls suggest me good soap for her and one more thing is i think she had a dandruff also or what is the problem is that,pls answer this question iam waiting for ur good reply. Hi,

Your daughter is having most probably atopic dermatitis.

There is cradle cap on scalp..dandruff like lesions on scalp.

There would be dry mild scaly erythematous patches on face , neck,legs and trunk. And that would be irritating and itchy.

Apply mild steroid cream like mometasone with antibiotic cream like gentamycin.

Avoid soap, use dettol liq. for bath.

Cleanse the scalp with savlone liq.

Use moisturing cream on whole body after bath in the morning...like emolene cream.

Give her antihistaminic syp. like hydroxyzine ..atarax syp 5 ml twice day.

Antbiotics susp like roxithromycin 5 ml twice day may be given.

If there is severity, give her prednesolone syp in tappering dose.

Avoid woolen clothes.,keep away her from dust,perfume,powder..etc

I think, she may be improved... Still , consult dermatologist.
