Itching, Night Sweats, Cold. Bactrim Ds, Keflex, Clindamycin Taken To Cure Recent Mrsa Infection. Pneumonia?
Hi my name is Richard I am 28 just recently I had a sore on my hand it got infected with mrsa . I was put on bactrim ds for 10 days and keflex for 10 days. 7 days into I got a allergic reaction from one of them so the dr. Took me off both and gave me a five day course of clindamycin which today is my last day of. The wound healed well, and I don't have any side effects from clindamycin except mild itch . But at night I wake up drenched in sweat and get cold . Could this be an pneumonia from mrsa? Or something different?
The itching and night sweats along with cold is probably due to allergies or like you mention a side effect. Having bactrim ds, and clindamycin would clear out your infection, however if you are continuing to have symptoms that you mention, it is due to the healing process. You might want to wait for a few more days before visiting with and consulting a doctor. I hope this helps.
Take care and have a lovley day!
