Itching, Odorless Vaginal Discharge, Yellowish Discharge In Urethra. Taken Antibiotics After Tooth Extraction. Advise?

Hello Doctor. I have few questions about vaginal yeast infection. I think i am having it now and it feels so itchy, irritating with odorless vaginal discharge. I do not know which can be the cause because all possible causes are overlapped. My expected period is May 9 and it started to feel April 26. At that time, my boyfriend and I started to use flavoured dotted type condoms which I suspect can be the cause. On the same day I started to take antibiotics for wisdom toot extraction. And this can be the cause. At the same period, my boyfriend inserted his finger in the vagina a lot and longer. I suspect he did not wash his hands. And I do not think my boyfriend has sex with other women, so i think it is not really ST disease. Here is my question: What can be highly possible cause above?

Today, I checked my vagina and found there is yellowish discharge in my urethra too. Is it common for yeast infection?

Please recommend me some treatments like medicine. I thought it will go away if i keep it clean, but till today it is still there. Thank you

Dear elizacharlie2013, welcome to healthcare magic.
All the factors you mentioned may of course cause yeast infection. Itching is a prominent sign of yeast infection, but the yellow color of the discharge and the smell suggest another type in association.
You should go to your doctor in order to examine you and define the type of infection you have. he may need to take a vaginal swab in order to reach a proper diagnosis.
If this is not possible, I will assume that you have a vaginal yeast infections and here are some information about it:
- It is a yeast infection which grows in moist areas of our body.
- The chances of having this infection increase if you take antibiotics, are pregnant or if you use contraceptive pills containing estrogen.
- It is not sexually transmitted, so it is not necessary to treat the partner.
- Common symptoms include pain (during urinating or intercourse), Itching and thick whitish vaginal discharge.
- Diagnosis is suspected by the symptoms and confirmed by taking a vaginal swab.
- Topical creams or pessaries are a good treatment but the may cause irritation, so oral antifungals are a good alternative.
- Eating yogurt or even using it in your vagina may relieve itching and may be a good treatment.
- It may be more complicated if you are immune compromised ( pregnant, having diabetes...) and so, treatment may be difficult.
- The following may help prevent vaginal thrush:
1- Wear cotton or silk underwear, which allows moist to evaporate, unlike nylon and other synthetic materials.
2- Wash and dry your underwear thoroughly and change it often in order to prevent dampness.
3- Avoid using feminine deodorant sprays or perfumes.
I hope these words were usefull and good luck.
Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
