Hey I drank quite a bit of beer last night woke up hot and with a dry mouth, so i drank some water and the roof of my mouth the furthest my tongue can reach got extremely itchy while drinking the water and awhile afterward. I ate oatmeal for breakfast and didn't feel it much but now I'm eating wingstop and can't even finish eating as the itch has spread to underneath my tongue. I figured it was the alcohol but idk its a weird feeling.
Dry mouth occurs due to various conditions such as atrophy of the salivary gland, hot climate, smoking , hormonal changes. Other than this dry mouth can also be due to mouth breathing habit during sleep or due to nasal block. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water and keep your mucosa moist and reduce the consistency of the secretions. Avoid smoking, coffee and chilled beverages for sometimes. Take lukewarm saline rinses and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.
Hopes this helps!
Regards..
