Itchy Vaginal Discharge With Scant Traces Of Blood. Little Relief From Monistat Cream. Sexually Active. Advice

hi i'm a perimenopausal woman who is two months sexually active with one man after two years celibate. About a week ago I started to get itchy vaginally and except for no cottage cheese discharge (had a yeast infection twice before) it felt like one so I bought 1 day Monistat and applied it. a day later I had no itching at all (three days later same) but scant traces of blood in vaginal discharge. Not always. Also I haven't had a period in a number of months except for a bit of spotting.

Other causes like trichomoniasis ,Herpes,Chlamydia and bacterial vaginosis need to be ruled out. Antifungal therapy will need to be carried out for both partners simeltaneously to prevent passing the infection to-and fro.Oral and local fungal therapy may be needed along with antibiotics in case of mixed infections.Your PCP/Gynaecologist will guide you further.
