I went to my doctor because I was having an itchy water filled rash on my lower back that keeps recurring...not often but every few months +. She looked at it and said it was herpes and prescribed an anti-viral. This freaked me out because I m in a monogamous relationship...my symptoms didn t start appearing until 2011 and we ve been married since 2005. She didn t do a biopsy or blood work or anything...is there anyway it could be something else? I m worried about what this means for my marriage as I did not cheat and I don t know any other way you can get herpes.
As per the details u have submitted , it is herpes zoster infection. ..so ur thinking In a wrong way that it is herpes simplex . Herpes simplex is STD but not herpes zoster. Ok. Herpes zoster presents as unilateral itchy vesicular rash confined to only one side and one dermatome due to reactivativation of pox virus , from nerve roots. Commonly seen I when immunity decreases.
So don't worry about it , complete the course of anti viral drugs.
Hope this will help u
