I've been experiencing some knee pain for the past few months and had some tenderness around my left arm. I got a severe high fever a few days ago but got over it and have no fever now. The fever was accompanied by chills and some fatigue but there were no other symptoms typical of the flu.
This fever was three days ago and the fever ended yesterday. I also visited my doctor yesterday about this.
My PCP/GP suspects this was a viral infection and the tenderness in my joints and the pain in them is caused by Patellofemoral stress syndrome. She had me bend my knees certain ways and quickly diagnosed that condition. As a precautionary measure, however, she ordered an Arthritis Panel which includes an ANA test, which I am aware is to test for an overactive immune system and is a quick way to check for any autoimmune issues (i.e. Lupus, Rheumetoid Arthritis, etc.)
In the same visit she suggested I get the influenza vaccine, so I agreed. The next day (today) I got the arthritis panel done.
Now that I think back to it, did I take the arthritis panel too early? Will this heavily affect the ANA test? I've heard of these ratios 1:40 or whatever - by how much numbers wise would taking the arthritis panel a day after would the flu vaccination affect the test?
How long should I have waited before taking the Arthritis Panel? I don't want the vaccination causing a false-positive. Should I retake the test?
