I've Been Ordered By My Dr To Use Compression Hose

I've been ordered by my dr to use compression hose due to venous insufficiency. I'm 72, overweight, and in a power chair. I've had trouble with what I call blisters and he calls ulcers on my lower legs. Also have osteoarthritis in both legs, so can no longer walk without a walker - used to hike in the mtns! Finally ordered the stocking donner ("butler") he recommended and just received the hose I had ordered. However, just before they arrived in mail, the blisters appeared again. Can I try putting the hose on over the blisters and over any cream I put on my legs?
